Canon extends market-leading large format solutions offering through Colortrac partnership
REIGATE, November 12, 2008 – Canon UK, world leader in imaging solutions, has strengthened its portfolio of large format solutions by extending its strategic partnership with Colortrac with the addition of two new large format scanners. The Colortrac Cx40 and Colortrac Gx42 are designed to work alongside Canon’s Large Format Printers (LFPs) to enable precise and effortless scanning of large format documents.
The Colortrac Cx40, a 40” wide machine, has been designed to scan and copy large documents quickly and precisely. An ideal solution for CAD and GIS markets, the Colortrac Cx40 can re-create fine lines and detailed images at up to 9” per second, presenting a solution where speed and accuracy are paramount. It is available in mono, colour and colour express versions and all models in the range are easily upgradable from mono to colour express, avoiding downtime to business procedures.
The Colortrac Gx42 allows users to easily and rapidly scan and copy high quality colour large format documents. The Colortrac Gx42 - a slightly larger model at 42” width - has been designed for use in print-for-pay applications where scanning, copying and printing large documents is in high demand. The scanner features high quality image reproduction to ensure re-creation of vivid colours and fine quality, scanning documents at speeds of 6” per second.
Both models present a straightforward and cost effective solution for companies wishing to handle large format scanning in-house without the need to outsource.
A feature that both scanners possess is the ability to safely scan documents without the worry of damaging originals due to the built in 2+4 all-wheel drive active paper transport, which protects documents through the machinery.
Shane Burchett, Large Format Print Product Professional, Canon UK, said: “We are currently seeing extensive growth in the LFP market and consequently it is opening doors to new forms of printing. This partnership with Colortrac enables us to match our large format printers with equivalent copying and scanning devices to offer professional businesses the most accurate and effortless scanning available.
“The beauty of partnering with a company like Colortrac is that we can combine our expertise to produce solutions that truly benefit the end-user. With the economic climate as it is, our focus is to bring cost effective solutions to customers so they can bring their scanning and printing needs in-house, without the need for expensive outsourcing options.”
The Colortrac Cx40 and Gx42 scanners are available now.
